Back Pain Physical Therapy in Torrance, CA

Stop Training Around Your Back Pain

Active adults and lifters come to PRIME when back pain keeps interrupting training, work, and everyday life. We find what's actually driving it and rebuild your back — one-on-one.

Why Back Pain Keeps Coming Back After Standard Care

Chasing Symptoms, Not the Cause

Stretching, ice, and a few generic exercises might calm a flare-up, but they rarely address why your back keeps getting irritated in the first place. When the underlying driver goes unaddressed, the pain tends to return the moment you ramp activity back up.

15 Minutes With a PT, Then a Handoff

In many clinics you get a few minutes with the therapist and the rest of the session with an aide running a standard worksheet. Back pain tied to how you move and load needs a real evaluation — not a one-size-fits-all printout.

Rest Now, Pay for It Later

Being told to simply stop and wait it out can leave you weaker and more deconditioned than before. For active people, avoiding load entirely often sets up the next flare instead of preventing it.

I was dealing with a hip issue for a couple of weeks before seeing Dr. Dean, and she helped diagnose the issue right away and provided the best service I've received in my recovery. Since my visits, I no longer have the issue and am very pleased with my experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about back pain care and what one-on-one rehab looks like at PRIME in Torrance.

Do I need a referral or imaging before coming in?

No. California allows direct access to physical therapy, so you can book an evaluation without a referral. If you've already had imaging or seen a physician, we'll factor that in — but most back pain is driven by how you move and load, which we assess directly in your first visit.

Will you just give me stretches and send me home?

No. Your plan is built around a full movement and load assessment, not a generic handout. You'll get specific, progressive work targeting the root of your back pain — done one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who adjusts it as you improve.

I've had back pain for years. Can PT still help?

Long-standing back pain is one of the most common situations we see. Persistent pain usually means the underlying drivers — strength, mobility, and how you load — were never fully addressed. A thorough assessment finds those gaps so your plan targets what earlier care missed.

Can I keep training while I rehab my back?

Usually, yes. For active adults and lifters, the goal is rarely complete rest. We adjust load and movement so you keep training what you safely can while we rebuild the rest — because staying strong is part of getting your back right.

Do you accept insurance for back pain therapy?

PRIME is cash-based — no in-network insurance is accepted. We accept credit card, debit, HSA, and FSA. Superbills are available for clients who want to submit to their insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
